Privacy Policy

Effective date: [effective date]

Applies to: seatmap.live, its seat maps and SeatMap Pro.

This policy explains what personal information [legal entity name] (“SeatMap”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use SeatMap, why we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

SeatMap is run by [legal entity name], [registered address], which is responsible for your personal information under this policy.

2. What we collect

  • Account: your email address. If you sign in with Google, also the name and profile picture Google shares.
  • Flights you look up: the flight number, route, date and cabin you ask about.
  • Subscription: whether you have SeatMap Pro, your plan and its renewal date. Stripe holds your payment details; we never see your card.
  • Technical: your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you load, as our hosting records them.

We do not ask for your location, contacts, camera or microphone, and we do not collect them.

3. How we use it

  • To show seat maps and, with Pro, live open seats and seat recommendations.
  • To sign you in and keep you signed in.
  • To run your Pro subscription and answer billing questions.
  • To keep SeatMap secure and working, and to fix problems.
  • To reply when you contact us.

We rely on providing the service you asked for, our legitimate interest in running it safely, and legal obligations. [Lawyer to confirm.]

4. Who we share it with

We share only what each service needs to do its part:

  • Our seat-data service: the flights and cabins you look up, and your signed-in account when you check live seats.
  • Stripe: what it needs to take payment and manage your subscription.
  • Google: if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Cloudflare: our hosting, which serves every page.
  • OpenFreeMap: the map tiles your browser loads when a page shows the map.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. [Confirm before publishing.]

5. Cookies and storage

Signing in sets an encrypted session cookie and short-lived security cookies. One prompt you dismiss is remembered in your browser tab until you close it. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account while it is open, and delete it [retention period] after you ask us to. Server logs are kept for [log retention]. Records we must keep by law, such as payment records held by Stripe, are kept as long as the law requires.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it. Email [contact email] and we reply within [response time]. You can also complain to [supervisory authority].

8. Children

SeatMap is not meant for children under [minimum age], and we do not knowingly collect their information.

9. International transfers

Our providers may process information outside your country. Where the law requires it, these transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards. [Lawyer to confirm.]

10. Security

Every page is served over an encrypted connection, your session is stored encrypted, and SeatMap keeps no passwords: you sign in with a one-time code or with Google. No system is perfectly secure, so keep your email account safe.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we update the effective date above. For important changes we tell you before they apply.
